Late September portraiture and Sculpture workshops …(Sept 3 & Oct 8.2011)

- Portrait group late Sept: Samanta & Jonathan sit for the session :four 20 minute sittings

- This is my first drawing of the brother and sister…got the attitude right , heads are ouut of scale with each other , but this does not matter to me for now.
-
- During this session I had time to draw individual portraits of Jonathan…

- and here he is….

- an individual portrait of Samantha…..

- …in 20 minutes…just enough detail in the face, .. forget about messy hair.

- Week 2 still seated, but in a new location for a double portrait…off to a good start..
-
- Finished and photographed at a sharp angle hurriedly ( obvious distortion) but I like the sunlight on the page.

- I created a book sculpture within a group workshop a few weks ago. This picture reveals the shape I wished it to take.

- After some hours it was plastered with “mod rock ” and looked like this.hhmmn …a bit rough and hurried, ..my first attempt..and another fun day doing things with Geelong Arts Society people

- I filled it out with natures extras…I think I could do little more with this later perhaps…

- Based upon previous drawings of this brother & sister combination I embarked on a painting of them..a little unplanned , an adventure..

- 2 hours of painting and a lot rubbing back …but I’m on my way

- This is the finished painting…well , I’m going to think about it for awhile.
